Buffer Memory Nodes Come In XMC Form Factor

April 07, 2008
The MM-6171, a buffer memory node, comes in an XMC form factor with support for Serial RapidIO or PCI Express and supports 2 GB to 4 GB of buffer memory. It suits radar-signal processing, signal intelligence, and image acquisition applications that require buffering capability with a FPGA memory controller. The module includes a bus interface and DMA engine and the Serial RapidIO x4 interface runs at 3.125 GHz with a corner turning, striding DMA engine for functionality in DSP systems. For PCI Express applications, the x8 bus interface runs at 2.5 GHz and also provides a complete DMA engine. Additionally, the MM-6171 includes drivers for VxWorks 6.x and Linux 2.6.x and is available in commercial, convection-cooled, and ruggedized conduction-cooled versions. VMETRO INC., Houston, TX.
