Circular Connectors Suit Medical Apps
July 2007 Issue
Published Date: June 21, 2007
Suiting up for medical applications, the CPC line of circular plastic connectors find employment in surgical instruments, RF and ultrasound ablation, and patient monitors found in operating rooms. Connectors are available in five, six, seven and 10 contact positions and are sterilizable via autoclave, STERRAD 100 S1, CIDEX + (wipe down only), and EtO. The components form a wire-to-panel connector system with housings available in black or gray and other colors for mating polarization. Housings are lightweight, shock resistant, and feature ergonomic push-pull mating and a reliable self-latching mechanism. The connectors have a mating force of 2.5 lbs, un-mating force of 1 lb. and a mating cycle rating of up to 2,500 cycles. TYCO ELECTRONICS, Harrisburg, PA. (800) 522-6752.
