Photo Detector Array Busts Industry Size Record
June 2007 Issue
Published Date: June 04, 2007
The company's SEMICONDUCTOR 2.0 platform has been employed to create what is claimed as the market's largest printed semiconductor-based photo-detector array on a flexible PET foil substrate. The array measures 18 cm x 12 cm. Printed semiconductor-based technology supports unique mechanical, electro-optical and structural properties and could easily produce detectors 50 cm x 50 cm or larger. As a result, the company says it is now possible to create application-specific printed semiconductor-based photo-detector arrays that eliminate the need for optical filters. Typical applications for large area photo-detector arrays include industrial measurement and test, medical imaging, and security screening.
