System Throttles Flash Memory Programming

April 04, 2007
EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE, San Jose, CA. – The Cheetah Flash Vector Programming system is said to deliver the fastest flash programming of NAND and NOR flash memory at speeds as low as 2.5% over theoretical programming minimum. A proprietary co-processor technology, called Vector Engine, is claims responsibility for the speed increase. This technology uses a proprietary co-processor design to hardware accelerate flash memory waveforms during the programming cycle. Faster speeds are achieved through synchronous operations that eliminate the dead times when the device under test waits on the programmer. The result is programming near the theoretical limits of the silicon design, i.e., the faster the device, the faster the device is programmed. Additionally, multiple Cheetah units can be connected to one computer to run the same programming job in concurrent programming mode. BPM MICROSYSTEMS, Houston, TX. (800) 225-2102.
