Triaxial Accelerometer Helps To Ensure A Comfortable Ride
February 2007 Issue
Published Date: January 24, 2007
For automotive test apps, the Model 356B41 triaxial ICP accelerometer installs between the rider and vehicle seat for ride comfort studies and human vibration exposure investigations. The sensor mounts to a metal plate, which seats within a molded rubber pad. The sensor is easily removable for calibration and verification purposes. Meeting the requirements of ISO 10326-1, the component also supports whole body vibration studies in accordance with ISO 2631 and ISO 8041 standards, and supports compliance with EU physical-agents directives. Specifications include a sensitivity of 100 mV/g, frequency range of 0.5 Hz to 1 kHz (±5%), and a 1.5m cable with a 4-pin terminating connector. Additionally, the unit operates with the Larson Davis Model HVM100 human-vibration meter. PCB PIEZOTRONICS INC., Depew, NY. (800) 828-8840.
