Power Analyzer Balances Performance-To-Cost Ratio
September 2006 Issue
Published Date: September 18, 2006
Seeking residence on engineering and R&D bench tops as well as manufacturing and production environments, the 2801 single-channel power analyzer offers a set of features and performance levels at a price point the company claims that is a fraction of analyzers with similar or lesser performance. The instrument delivers a basic voltage-/current-measurement accuracy of better than 0.08%. It is capable of measuring greater than 150A peak and 2 kV peak and measures current down to less than 1 mARMS and 1 VRMS while maintaining 0.2% accuracy. These capabilities are said to make the analyzer desirable for Energy Star or standby-power testing. Other features include an ac/dc line switch on the front panel that combines with the graphical inrush waveforms and startup screens, dc-charge and dc-discharge measurements, and a selection for load or source measurements with wiring compensation and voltage burden compensation. For price, call XITRON TECHNOLOGIES INC., San Diego, CA. (858) 530-8099.
