EMA Compliance System Tackles RoHS Reporting

Supporting companies trying to comply with the variety of requirements for environmental legislations, the Compliance Assurance System (CAS) is an adjunct to the Engineering Data Management (EDM) system, together forming a method to streamline the full chain of environmentalcompliance reporting. The CAS system handles various environmental regulations with an architecture that allows for plug-in modules to handle the specifics of any one piece of legislation. The first available module covers EU RoHS 2006 Due Diligence Reporting. The system employs data created during the design process and stored in EDM to compile supporting compliance documents for parts and the subassemblies including all electrical/mechanical parts, paints, coatings, and anything else. It collates data from the EDM along with the Due Diligence Report into the proper format to produce the final compliance assurance document.

Headers Meet Environmental Requirements

Announced in July, the company's portfolio of male and female headers are 100% RoHS-compliant. The parts, 2-mm and 2.54-mm board-to-board connectors, are available in single-, double-, and four-row configurations and in both plated through-hole and surfacemount versions. Additionally, users can choose from standard PBT or temperature-resistant thermoplastic insulated bodies, PA9T or Nylon 6T. Other features include UL94V-0 ratings. The 2-mm components specify a current rating of 1A and the 2.54-mm contact center female headers specify 3A. Male headers, with 0.1" contact centers and 0.025" square posts, are also available with a current rating of 3A. Prices start at $0.012 per contact in single-row configurations and $0.021 per contact pair in dual-row versions.

Now RoHS compliant, the B16-L and B17-L latching, open-frame solenoids feature an integral return spring and suit magnetic-latching applications such as security systems, office automation and medical products. The solenoids provide a maximum force of 25 oz. and a maximum stroke of 0.18". They come in compact housings measuring less than 1" in length and less than 0.6" wide and offer duty cycles of 10%, 25%, and 50%.
