ATX Board Supports Dual-Core Processors

An ATX motherboard, the AIMB-762 supports dual-core Pentium D, Pentium 4, and Celeron D processors in the LGA775 socket via a 945G chipset. The board delivers speeds in excess of 3.8 GHz with a front side bus up to 533/800 MHz. Expansion options include one PCI-Express x16 and one x4 interface and five 32-bit /33-MHz PCI slots. With up to 8 GB/s of concurrent and bi-directional bandwidth, the PCI-Express x16 interface operates as a graphics or a general purpose I/O, while the PCI slots support most currently available expansion devices. Additionally, eight USB 2.0 ports and four ATA II ports are on board. Other features include an integrated VGA controller plus an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, both of which share up to 244 MB of memory. Price starts at $390. ADVANTECH CORP., Cincinnati, OH.
