RISC MCU Operates At 160 MHz
August 2006 Issue
Published Date: August 21, 2006
Taking position as the fastest to date, the SH7211F 32-Bit RISC microcontroller operates at speeds up to 160 MHz via a SH-2A CPU core and delivers processing performance nearing 320 MIPS. The device employs 512 KB of flash memory and sports an architecture that simultaneously executes two instructions. The SH-2A core employs 15 register banks for interrupt chores. Peripherals include: two multifunction timer units with tri-phase PWM outputs; an 8-channel, 12-bit a/d converter; 2-channel, 8-bit d/a converter; 4-channel serial interface with 16-stage FIFO and I2C; and a bus-state controller. In a 144-pin LQFP, price is $19.84 each. RENESAS TECHNOLOGY AMERICA INC., San Jose, CA. (408) 382-7407
