May 2006 Issue
Published Date: May 12, 2006
Conforming to PCI SIG specifications, the 6325 PCI Express card edge connector allows user upgrades and provides bandwidth support beyond the capacity of PCI-slot and AGP connectors. The connector supports 2.5-Gb/s data transfers and is available with 36 (x1), 64 (x4), 98 (x8), and 164 (x16) contact positions, all of which are on a 1-mm pitch. It also supports different bandwidth requirements for a 1.58-mm thick add-on graphics card. Other features include hot swapping, support for PCI Express signal and power requirements, and tail lengths of 2.3 mm and 3 mm. Tails are offset to form four rows on a 2-mm pitch. Pricing is less than $0.01 per pin each/1,000. AVX CORP. Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 946-0414
