Connectors Replace RF Switches
May 2006 Issue
Published Date: May 12, 2006
The company's latest RF-power switching connectors replace existing RF switches by integrating the switch function into a connector receptacle. A two-in-one design, the components promise to optimize packaging density, simplify PCB layout, and reduce overall cost of ownership. They are available in right or left versions for QMA, QN, TNC, N, and SMA interfaces. Specs include a 50Ω impedance, operating frequency range from dc to 3 GHz, typical isolation range from –40 dB to –47 dB across the operating frequency range, insertion-loss figures from 0.1 dB to 0.2 dB, effective voltage rating of 300V, and power-withstanding levels of 80W at 0.9 GHz and 50W at 1.9 GHz.
