Pressure Transducers Handle Shock And Vibration
December 2005 Issue
Published Date: December 14, 2005
Capable of withstanding vibration and shock in the harshest industrial environments, the PX209 cable-style and PX219 connector-style pressure transducers are available with 0 to 5 Vdc, 0 to 10 Vdc, or 4 mA to 20 mA outputs. Both sensors integrate a four-active-arm bridge sensor that employs a micro-machined diffused silicon diaphragm, proprietary thin-film media, and dielectric isolation barriers. They operate in temperatures ranging from -54°C to 121°C; however, a proprietary ASIC affords the components a compensated temperature range from -20°C to 80°C. Other shared features include stainless steel bodies and fittings; an isolation figure of 100 MΩ; accuracy of 0.25% full scale including linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability; a typical response time of 2 ms; and a MTBF of 100,000 hours. Price starts at $195 each for the PX219 connector-style transducer. OMEGA ENGINEERING INC., Stamford, CT. (888) 826-6342.
