Buck Regulator Handles Low Voltage Chores
March 2005 Issue
Published Date: March 09, 2005
Designed for low output voltages found in cable and xDSL Modems, DSPs, FPGAs, and set-top boxes, the LM2852 debuts as the first member of the SIMPLE SYNCHRONOUS buck regulator family. The device is a synchronous, high frequency step-down switching voltage regulator capable of driving loads up to 2A. Input voltages range from 2.7V to 5.5V and output voltage is factory programmable from 0.8V to 3.3V in 100-mV increments. Other features include switching frequencies of 500 kHz and 1.5 MHz, soft-start and enable functions, and internal compensation. Available in a TSSOP-14, price is $2.50 each/1,000.
