CMOS Memory Includes MTP Fuse
March 2005 Issue
Published Date: March 09, 2005
The AEFuse embedded, nonvolatile memory cores include what is said to be the first multiple-times-programmable (MTP) fuse fabricated in standard 0.25 µm and 0.18 µm CMOS processes. Offered as a reliable and cost-effective alternative to traditional fuse technologies, the memory provides up to 1,000 re-write cycles. It is optimized for small-bit-count embedded applications, including on-chip analog trim, product calibration, customer-specific configuration, and encryption key storage. Other features include over 100 configurations including those with on-chip high-voltage blocks, oscillator and lock bits, an operating temperature range from, -40°C to +125°C, and a data-retention span of 10 years.
