Measuring just 6 mm in height, the W6m dc/ac inverter accommodates a wide input voltage range from 8V to 18V to fire LCDs backlit by a single cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL). The inverter relies on a custom IC for optimum performance and provides closed-loop current control and open-lamp detection. Its closed-loop current control delivers a regulated output that maintains consistent lamp brightness, said to be unaffected by variations of input voltage, over a wide temperature range.
