MCUs Pump Up With ARM7 Core

The company's latest microcontroller (MCU) families include the STR710 series based on the 32-bit ARM7TDMI core and the STR720 series with a 16/32-bit, RISC architecture ARM720T core. The STR71xF devices feature 16 KB to 64 KB of SRAM, 128 KB to 256 KB of flash memory, up to 10 communication interfaces, 12-bit a/d converter, up to 48 I/Os, and a JTAG debug interface. Available in TQFP64 or TQFP144 packages, they operate from a 3.3V supply and in temperatures from –40°C to +85°C. The STR72x MCUs include 16 KB of SRAM, SDRAM interface and external memory interfaces (EMI), six communication interfaces, 14-bit a/d converter, up to 35 I/Os, JTAG interface, and ETM trace. They are offered in either a PQFP or BGA package with ETM support. The STR710Z2 with 256 KB of flash and 64 KB of SRAM is priced at $7.80 each/10,000, and the STR720RB is priced at $7.70.
