Power Line Filter Supports Higher Power Demands
March 2004 Issue
Published Date: March 09, 2004
A new snap-in power line filter has been designed for use in power supplies rated up to 20A at 125V. The C20F integrated unit is expected to improve filter performance in applications with higher power demands. The ac inlet is designed according to IEC 320-1, type C20, and is combined with a standard or medical grade filter. This combination supplants discrete block filters rated between 15A and 20A. Attenuation is improved by eliminating the bulky wires between the connector and the filter, and a more direct path to ground is achieved. The C20F filter comes with a typical surge withstand of greater than 2.5 kV, L-N, or with added surge capability of greater than 4 kV, L-N. Suited for power supplies and distribution units with power ratings up to 3,500W, applications include information technology according to IEC/EN 60950 and medical equipment according to IEC/EN 60601. General industrial applications can benefit from the convenience of a removable cord. Pricing is $13.89 each/100. SCHURTER INC., Santa Rosa, CA. (800) 848-2600.
