A new line of plastic-encapsulated photodiodes employs a short-pass filter that blocks wavelengths that are longer than 700 nm. This function supplants the more common approach of using external and expensive glass filters. In addition to stock models, custom configurations and combinations are available for specific applications. Samples are currently available.
