SAR ADC Boasts Of ±1.5 LSB Linearity
January 2004 Issue
Published Date: January 13, 2004
Operating from a single power supply, the AD768 16-bit, 550-ksample/s, charge-redistribution SAR a/d converter exhibits a linearity of ±1.5 LSB. The device integrates an internal conversion clock, error correction circuits, a serial port, and a track/hold circuit that can sample an analog input range from 0V to VREF. The no-data-latency SAR ADC operates at three different speeds: warp mode at 550 ksamples/s for asynchronous conversion rate applications; normal mode at 450 ksamples/s for low-power applications; and an impulse mode in which power consumption varies with the throughput. Available in a 10-lead MSOP, price is$14.95 each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES INC., Wilmington, MA. (800) 262-5643.
