Remote Control Receiver Sports Three Inputs And Digital 8-Bit RSSI
January 2004 Issue
Published Date: January 13, 2004
Designed to accommodate 3-D antennas, the ATA5282 is a LF ASK, 125-kHz receiver with three inputs and a digital 8-bit RSSI output. A complete, hands-free key fob for passive entry go (PEG) systems can be designed by adding up to three antenna coils, a microcontroller, an RF transmitter or transceiver, and a battery. The receiver's three active input stages provide a maximum wake-up sensitivity of better than 3 mVp-p. Other features of the remote control receiver include a current consumption of 2 µA in standby and 4 µA in active modes, receiving distances of up to 2.5m, an operating voltage of 2V to 4.2V, and an operating temperature range from –40°C to 85°C. In a TSSOP8 package, pricing for ATA5282 starts at 1.05 each/10K. ATMEL CORP., San Jose, CA. (408) 441-0311.
