Current Monitors Feature Reduced Sense Voltage
October 2003 Issue
Published Date: October 13, 2003
Performing high-side, load-current sensing, the ZXCT1021 and ZXCT1022 current monitors have an accuracy of ±2% for a sense voltage of just 10 mV. The devices have fixed dc voltage gains of 10 and 100, respectively, and operate on voltages from 2.5V to 20V with a typical operating current of 25 µA. Both monitors translate the voltage across the shunt resistor into a proportional output, a method that is said to eliminate any disruption of the ground plane during sensing. They also eliminate the need for an external scaling resistor on the output. Pricing is $0.45 each/10K; delivery time is four to six weeks. For more details, contact ZETEX INC., Hauppauge, NY.
