Through the addition of I/O plugs with thumbscrews to the microGiGaCNTM high-speed, differential connector line, a full-range of industry-standard, high-speed copper interconnects are said to have become available for various high-speed transport technologies, such as servers and storage equipment. The new FCN-260D interconnects represent a standard I/O configuration for Serial Attached SCSI 4-lane, Serial ATA-2 4-lane, and 10G Fiber Channel technologies. They are designed for differential signaling and are available in 4x and 12x versions and include a backshell, board-mount socket and cable assembly. The devices's current rating is 0.5A ac for signal and 1A for ground. The FCN-260D enables a scalable performance range of 500 MB/s to 6 GB/s per link to meet the needs of both entry-level and high-end systems. Forward crosstalk is less than 4% at 100 ps pulse rise time (four-pair switching) with 93.6 ohms to 109.9 ohms impedance.
