Trackless Cable Assemblies Are Self-Supportive
September 2003 Issue
Published Date: September 18, 2003
Via a self-supporting design, Trackless Cable Assemblies are said to reduce particulation, vibration, size, and the excessive weight common to most cable tracks by completely eliminating the tracks. The assemblies work in a controlled motion mode without a cable track or energy chain for stroke lengths up to 1.5m; acceleration rates reach up to 40 m/s2. For drop-in installations, the cables come as complete assemblies with a connector termination and mounting clamps. Additionally, the assemblies can operate at the same small bend radii as traditional high-flex planar cables and can survive flex life testing in excess of 20 million cycles. W. L.
