Managed Platform Line Gains Three New Components September 2003 Issue Published Date: September 18, 2003
Targeting the communications, military and commercial markets, the IPnexus Advanced Managed Platform line is the company’s next-generation of IPMI-based, fully managed platforms. These include the ZT 5088e 12U and ZT 5091e 4U general-purpose platforms and the ZT 5085e 12U redundant host platform. Three new components have been introduced for these platforms: the CPC7301 Intelligent Shelf Manager (ISM); the ZT 6314 IPMI-based, 325W power supply; and the RTM4820 ISM rear transition module. The CPC7301 is a 3U single-slot ISM that provides a centralized management and alarm system for system power supplies, fan trays, fabric slots, and node slots. The RTM4820 is a 6U single-slot module that provides rear panel access to the I/O functions of one or two CPC7301s. The IPnexus platforms are said to provide the basis to go beyond five-nines availability, while handling the high performance computing requirements of next-generation packet-based systems.
