SMT Relays Keep RF Insertion Loss Steady
July 2003 Issue
Published Date: July 01, 2003
The GRF100 and GRF103 series of non-latching, surface-mount electrome- chanical relays promise users a high level of RF insertion loss repeatability over their frequency range. The SMT relays employ a butt-lead mounting scheme and a unique ground shield that insulates and shields each lead. The ground shield also provides a ground interface, said to be responsible for a RF insertion loss of just ±0.1dB. Both relays are available in coil voltages of 5 and 12 Vdc. The GRF100 measures 8.51 x 8.51 x 8.38 mm and weighs 2.55g, while the GRF103 measures 8.51 x 8.51 x 11.05 mm and weighs 4.5g. With a 0.1" spacing of the terminals, both relays are hermetically sealed to resist shock and vibration, as well as providing ESD resistance and EMI shielding. Price for either component is $25.97 each/500 with delivery from stock to eight weeks ARO. TELEDYNE RELAYS, Hawthorne, CA. (800) 284-7007.
