SSRs Debut As Industry's Smallest
January 2003 Issue
Published Date: January 01, 2003
Claimed to be the market's smallest solid-state relays, the mini-flat SSRs measure 4.6 mm x 2.64 mm x 1.85 mm. Three devices are available in the low-profile, flat-lead PS7801-1A, PS7802-1A and PS7803-1A packages. The mini-flats are suited for use in ATE chip test systems as they allow high placement density and their shortened signal paths help minimize the parasitic effects associated with traces. And high breakdown voltage lets designers eliminate protection devices in the data path, further helping lighten the parasitic load and increase overall system speed. The PS7800 is a bipolar device, so it is able to control both ac and dc loads. Single-channel PS7800 series SSRs have a GaAs LED on the input side and a pair of MOSFETs on the output. Pricing starts at $2.00 each. For more information, contact CALIFORNIA EASTERN LABORATORIES, Santa Clara, CA. (408) 988-3500.
