The Smart-UPS uninterruptible power supply (UPS) line has been expanded to now include a 5-kVA rack-mountable unit that delivers 4 kW of power and offers scalable extended runtime. The Smart-UPS 5-kVA XL includes comprehensive remote monitoring capabilities with the company’s Network Management Card EX installed. The pre-installed card enables the UPS to provide monitoring, control and event handling, as well as unattended remote shutdown for systems over a network. The card also allows users to add options such as environmental monitoring, out-of-band access, and network standards-based security without requiring additional cards or card slots. Occupying 5U of rack space, the new UPS allows for the addition of up to ten external battery packs for runtime of up to nearly three hours at the full load capacity.
