Coaxial Connectors Resist Shock And Vibration September 2002 Issue Published Date: September 01, 2002
A line of high-power RF coaxial connectors replaces the āCā series bayonet types with a secure threaded coupling in applications subject to shock and vibration. The SC coaxial connectors resemble the āCā series bayonet types, but are threaded to provide a coupling that cannot vibrate loose. Two versions are available: a 5 kV version with overlapping Teflon dielectrics for a longer electrical leakage path and a 1 kV version with high temperature (165_C) Fluoroloy H dielectrics. Designed for cables from 0.141" up to 0.625", the connectors meet MIL-C-39012 and MIL-STD-348 specifications. They are fabricated from brass or stainless steel with nickel or silver plating. The BeCu center conductors can be gold or silver plated. Applications include radar and antenna systems in airborne, shipboard and ground installations. Single-unit pricing begins at $24 each.
