Magnetic Motor Performs Like Moving Coil
August 2002 Issue
Published Date: August 01, 2002
Promising the performance and lifetime of a moving coil motor, the RE-max motor measures 24 mm in diameter and employs Neodymium magnets. Using a patented rhombic moving coil design, the iron-less rotor also promises zero cogging and accurate control. Four motors are available with metal or graphite brushes and single or double shafts with power ranges from 6.5W to 11W. Maximum continuous torque ranges to 1.7 oz.-in. and the motors weigh 71 g. Maximum efficiency is up to 90% depending on the winding. Options include ball bearings and sleeve bearings and terminals and leads. MAXON PRECISION MOTORS, INC., Burlingame, CA. (800) 865-7540.
