Photodiodes Targeted At OC-192 And OC-768 Fiber Optic Systems
August 2002 Issue
Published Date: August 01, 2002
Designed for integration into receivers and transceivers in OC-192 and OC-768 fiber optic systems, the company’s InGaAs PIN-type photodiodes are specified at 0.8 A/W for 10 Gb/s and 0.5 A/W for 40 Gb/s devices in the 1,300 nm to 1,550 nm range. They are available as un-packaged, 0.5-mm2 die and can be delivered with metallization patterns for wire-bond attachment or for flip-chip packaging with other circuit components. Top and backside illuminated configurations are available, both providing less than 10 nA of dark current. The photodiodes operate at bias voltages as low as 2V and output pulses as high as 4V. For further information and prices, call Dick Lavine at INTEVAC INC., Santa Clara, CA. (408) 496-2200.
