Said to be more reliable and efficiently processed compared to polyimide materials, ZYVEX liquid-crystalline, polymer circuit materials are primarily targeted for use in flexible circuit applications. A single-clad laminate, the new materials promise: a low and stable dielectric constant and loss; low moisture absorption; high chemical resistance; and matched in-plane CTE. In addition, the material is reported to exhibit excellent dimensional stability. ZYVEX is based on Vecstar liquid-crystalline polymer films developed byKuraray Co., a Japanese company.
