Video Amps Fire Up 15Ó And 17Ó CRT Monitors
November 2001 Issue
Published Date: November 01, 2001
Designed for use in 15" and 17" CRT monitors, a family of video amplifiers deliver rise and fall times of 7.5 ns (TDA9556), 9.5 ns (TDA9555) and 11 ns (TDA9553). Claimed to be the industryÕs first such devices capable of directly driving all three cathodes, a.k.a. dc-coupling mode, each three-channel video amplifier operates from a low-voltage supply of 12V and a high voltage supply up to 115V. The pin-out has been changed versus the previous video amplifier family (TDA9535/35L and 9536) to facilitate the CRT board PCB design and minimize the interactions between video inputs and outputs. These three amplifiers are available in CLIPWATT 11(CW11) plastic packages. The TDA9556 is priced at $0.90 each/50,000. For more pricing information, contact STMICROELECTRONICS, Lexington, MA. (781) 861-2650.
