Adapter Card Allows PCI Test/Debug In cPCI Chassis
November 2000 Issue
Published Date: November 01, 2000
Designers can test and debug standard PCI form factor cards in a CompactPCI (cPCI) chassis with the Cleveland PCI-to-cPCI adapter card. The card can also be used as a permanent means to mount PCI cards into a cPCI chassis. It is a 32/64-bit, 3.3V/5V carrier card that attaches to a 7.950" maximum length PCI card by using three adjustable standoffs and a female right-angle PCI socket. The card is PICMG 2.0 R3.0 compliant and has debug headers for all signals that are not on both PCI and PICMG standards. It maintains the 65 ohm impedance requirements while adding just a 3" to 4.7" stub to the bus. It is designed to allow cabling from the existing PCI bracket I/O connectors to the cPCI faceplate without violating the cPCI mechanical keepouts.
