Compact Torque Sensors Use Digital Telemetry
June 2000 Issue
Published Date: June 01, 2000
Designed for dynamometer applications where non-contact, high torsional stiffness, and short length are required, the Model 2000 rotary torque sensors employ a digital telemetry system that eliminates the need for bearings and slip rings. The sensors are available in 12 capacities ranging from 150 to 8000 ft.-lb. Standard output is ±10 vdc with an overall accuracy of 0.075% when considering non-linearity, hysteresis and repeatability. The sensors mate directly to commercially available couplings on one side and to drive shaft on the other. System power requirements are 10 to 18 vdc or 120 vac with an input sampling rate of 26 ks/s. Frequency response is 2 kHz at -3 dB.
