Connector Blocks Ease Control Panel Wiring
May 2000 Issue
Published Date: May 01, 2000
Used for in-line tapping and splicing of multiple-cable connections, Multi-Tap Cable Connector Blocks are designed for cable connections in control panels, HVAC/refrigeration systems, motor controls, and more. The clear PVC insulation allows visual inspection of wire insertion, eliminating the need for taping. The blocks come in 35 configurations with 2 to 8 circuits. The pre-installed aluminum blocks are rated for use with 14 AWG or 500 MCM copper and aluminum cable. Each connector accepts a wide range of cable sizes, thereby reducing inventories. The connectors comply with ANSI C119.4, UL Listed per 486B, with an AL9CU 90°C temperature rating and voltage rating of 600V. The blocks have dual-sided entry and high-visibility plugs for unused ports. Connector ports are pre-filled with an anti-oxident that seals out air and moisture on cable connections. Conventional slotted-head or hex-head screws are used to secure cables. No special installation tools are needed, and the connectors are reusable.
