Resonators Come In Small, Solder-Seal Package
April 2000 Issue
Published Date: April 01, 2000
These surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) resonators come in a small (4.8 x 5.2 mm), solder-seal, surface-mount package and are designed to work at 315-MHz and 433.92-MHz frequencies. The solder-sealed package footprint is smaller than the standard RFM resonator package while also improving the hermeticity and durability of the devices. In addition, the SMT feature helps OEMs assemble boards faster. The RO2179B resonator is produced for use in the U.S., while the RO2180B is used in Europe. Markets include automotive, commercial, utilities, industrial, consumer and government with applications such as wireless gas pumps, wireless thermostats, remote water meter reading, bar code reading, and wireless headphones.
