ADC Suits Low-Cost µP-Based Systems

The TC3405 16-bit, sigma-delta A/D converter has one differential and three single-ended inputs with a built-in multiplexer and is claimed to be a cost-effective solution for precision applications. Data is scanned out of the device using a two-wire MicroPort digital interface, and the conversion rate can be scaled from 16 bits at 8 s/s up to 10 bits at 512 s/s. The device is available in 16-pin PDIP and QSOP packages and operates on 1.8V to 5.5V. Pricing starts at $3.22 each/1000.
